Septic/ Stormwater Design and Installation in Glen Mills
This customer needed a new septic system and some serious drainage solutions to control the storm water that ran off the road down the front yard and toward the house. We installed a lift pump septic system to take advantage of the better drained soils at a high point in the property. We designed and installed a landscaping berm along the road that diverts runoff across the driveway where it is safely conveyed away from the house. We also planted the berm with deer resistant shrubs and ground cover to provide stabilization and privacy from the road, installed Belgian block driveway curbing and repointed a flagstone walkway that was washed out from the previous runoff and erosion.

The berm redirects all of the stormwater runoff from the road away from the house and across the driveway
We built a small stone retaining wall at the top of the driveway to divert runoff from the driveway entrance and direct it towards the new riverstone lined swale.

We planted the berm with pachysandra ground cover to stabilize the berm and Aucuba, a shade-loving, deer-resistant shrub for beauty and privacy from the road.

We installed Belgian block curbing along the driveway and repointed the flagstone walkway that was in need of repair due to the previous erosion.
